Oze

This will be a high autumn season in Oze, just before huts close for the long winter season. So I have made a reservation in a hut for a small number of participants. If you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible.

Oze (at 1,500 m) will be in autumn, so warm clothes will be necessary.
Walking is mostly flat, on wooden boards. Walking map of the area can be seen at

This will be a car based hike. We will park our cars in Tokura and take a shuttle to Hatomachi Toge, from where we will start walking in the marsh, in the direction of Miharashi. We return the next day, enjoying the scenery, with some diversions in the route.

Our booking (for the night of Oct 10) is at Akatashiro hut, https://oze-onsengoya.com/ (closer to the waterfalls).
Dinner and breakfast will be provided at the hut. The total cost of the hut (including the meals) will be 14,300 yen per person (+1,100 yen for lunch takeout for Sunday). We need to confirm our reservation (number of persons, any meal preferences) early, because it is the highest season of the
year. I need to finalize the list in a few days.

We will leave from Tsukuba at 5:00 AM on Oct 10, and return late evening in Tsukuba on Oct. 11.

On the way back, we will visit onsen Hanasaki no Yu
